PCICBI, PCI to CardBus Interface Board Specification

PCICBI is an interface board between the PCI bus and the 32 bit CardBus / 16 bit PCMCIA card. It allows CardBus and PCMCIA adapter cards to be used in desk top computer systems. It has the form factor of a short 32 bit PCI adapter board. It supports two ports. One faces toward the back of the chassis, and another can be mounted at the front or the back, through a flex cable. The PCICBI board can also be used in many engineering and production applications where voltage margin and current measurement are necessary. The flex cable option allows easier interface to another mechanical assembly, especially where vibration exist between the two systems. It is built with quality and state of the art components. The PCICBI is made in USA with one year warranty.

Controller: TI, PCI1420 PC Card Controller.
TI, TPS2206 PC Card Power-Interface Switch.
Card Ports: Two 68 pin CardBus / PCMCIA ports, Port A faces the back of PC chassis. Port B is a flex cable interface at the opposite end of Port A. Both ports can be mounted externally via flex cables.
VCC Power: Auto selection of 5V or 3.3V based on card type, up to 1.0 Amp.
VPP Power: Software programmable to 5V, 3.3V or 12V, up to 150 ma.
Power margin: On-board headers/jumpers allows external 5V, 3.3V and 12V to enter the board as the VCC and VPP to the CardBus / PCMCIA cards.
LED Status: Port activity (GRN), VCC voltage indication of 5V (GRN) or 3.3V (RED), VPP indication (GRN) and over current indication (RED), system power (GRN) and controller power (GRN).
Protection: Both ports are over-voltage and over-current protected. Hot insertion of CardBus and PCMCIA cards are allowed.
Environment: 0-70 degree C, operating.
Dimension: Height: 4.0 inches; Length: 5.5 inches (not including the mounting bracket).

Operating Systems Compatibility:

Windows 98 and MS-DOS: PCICBI must be configured by editing the autoexec.bat file, to include the PCICBI04.EXE.

Windows 2000: Download the configuration program PCICBI2K4.ZIP, here, unzip the file, and then run setup.bat.
